Challenge: Mongols convert to Christianity

1. Nestorian faction dominant in Ilkhanate - Kitbogha beats the Mamluks.

2. Russians/Georgians more successful in the Volga/North Caucasus Region. Hard to achieve, need a faraway PoD...and in the end easily replaced by the much better...

3. Cumans adopt Christianity early. Majority Christian nomad populations = Mongols probably adopt that.

4. Some more distant PODs involving Christian steppe nations...can butterfly Chingiz easily however.

I doubt the Mongols converting to either Greek Orthodoxy or Catholicism but some were Nestorian Christians since Nestorianism arrived in Mongolia earlier than Catholicism and Orthodoxy did.
How would a heretical form of Christianity bode for any long term alliances between Mongols and Crusaders, probably just long enough to get rid of the Islamic threat until they turn on each other.

IIRC, one of Khublini's wives, his most favored one, was a Nesotrian Chrisitan. There could be a possibility that she could have him convert and have him try to spread it throughout their Empire. If this could happen, only Mongolians would convert. Christianity wouldn't be very popular in China or post-700 a.d. Middle East, no matter the circumstances.
