Challenge: have the Wallies invade the Soviet Union

Basically, the Wallies decide to invade the Soviet Union in the late 40s' when it didn't had neither nuclear weapons or the technical means to employ them. What could lead the Wallies to do that? Is it necessary to change leadership?

Something happening during the Berlin Crisis could lead to that, but I doubt the west would go that far so soon after World War II.

Another problem is that the Soviets won't start it - some of their troops around Berlin during the crisis had their ammunition taken away.

George Patton and other generals wanted to bring the war to the SU, but were prevented by politicians. Under the right circunstances, however...

Having a series of shooting exchanges that lead to escalations in 1945 and it could theoretically happen provided Stalin gets all paranoid and believing the clashes were a signal the Allies were trying to start something to conquer the USSR; he violent response could trigger Operation Unthinkable.
