Challenge: Ethiopian Emperors

Now, for something different!
Now, a VERY, VERY important rule: no colonisation or take-over by foreign powers.

1637-16??: Fasilides

The pre revolution ruler of Ethiopia was already an emperor.

But, here are a couple for you

1689 - 1720: Hailie Unlaiklee
1721 - 1756: Haile Strung

:D

Well, the guy overthrown by Mengistu was the Emperor Haile Selassie the 1st. And he wasn't the first emperor or empress of the country.

I know- don't take it wrong- but I feel somewhat insulted you think that. :p Fasilides built the Castles at Gondar. Now, let's go on to the lists. I'm looking foward to an early Zemene Mesafint.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Ethiopia had Ethiopian emperors until 1974. While briefly conquered by the Italians, the monarchy survived. So what exactly is the challenge?

Well you could always go way back to the original Ethiopian Empire with the Kingdom of Aksum which controlled most of modern day Ethiopia, Eritriea, Djibouti, Somali, Yemen and U.A.E.

The same as the other challenges?
As in:
Tudor monarch Challenge
Challenge: Confederate Monarchs!
UK Monarchs Challenge
USA Presidents Challenge
English Monarchs Challenge
CSA Presidents Challenge

I think he wants an alternate list of Ethiopian emperors.
Exactly. Don't know why this seems hard to understand.
