It's kinda boring that Canadians sound like Mid-Western Americans. How do we make Canadians speak with Australian accents?
So best bet is to have canada become more of a penal colony, but why would the british turn Canada into a penal colony? Canada has a pretty good amount of natural resources and raw material. Plus, if you are going to send your criminals away, you might want to send them a little further away then canada.
I guess you can count parts of the midwest. But remember, General American (TV American) is basically Des Moines speak. Heh, my Os got shorter since I lived there.Well, first you need to figure out how the accent came about. Australia was originally a penal colony of the British. They would send their criminals there. Most often these criminals were just poor or Irish. The poor in England spoke a basterdized verison of the Kings English. They were sent down there, and over time that basterdized english formed a twang that is common amongst people who live in rural or otherwise "out of the way" settlments. We have the same thing in the U.S. with those who live in the south, midwest, or out in the country.
