Challenge: Amrica is 'bad guy' in WWII

That would be rather impressive, considering how in the 20's Britain and France were trying to saddle their war debt onto Germany, not help Germany in any significant way. And that Japan was already looking for more European colonies in the Pacific. And that Britain and France still aren't best friends, and really only became allies in the first place because of Germany.

There is a theory that a status-quo or declining power is best served by alliances with much smaller rising powers than itself, in order to keep it's influence and freedom of action as high as possible. That makes Japan a better ally for Britain than the US, the US's much greater power would sooner or later relegate Britain to the sidelines in their relationship, as happened IOTL.

But a friendly Japan serving British interests means an unfriendly US, so to secure Britain's rear Germany could be integrated and removed as a revisionist threat.

Stranger things have happened.

I get it. And let me guess--Amrica is a tiny pro-german Enclave in another Eastern European country...

There we have it.

What do you mean by 'bad guy'? That the USA starts WW2? That it commits war crimes? That it just loses and is painted as bad by the victor's history books?

Britain chooses to keep it's alliance with Japan instead of giving it up to please 'murca. 'murca keeps building its huge fleet and Britain reacts by 'rehabilitating' Wiemar Germany and bringing it on board as an ally from the mid 20s. Rehab'ed Germany signs a coal and steel agreement with France and Britain, and a formal military alliance called the North Atlantic Treaty organisation. War breaks out between Nato/Japan on one side and 'murca on the other, which Nato/Japan win making 'murca look like the bad guy. The end.

That might work out to make them the bad guy, but I don't know how they'd lose after that. Also a bit confused as to why war would break out.

How about a someone makes a move to change the open door policy with China in an attempt increase trade to overcome the Great Depression?

If America tries it, then there is America as the aggressor power.

This could be a festering problem to help lay the ground for future trouble.

Quicky ;-)

Point of departure? I have a scenario where the US goes to war with the allies in 1913 over Mexico, Germany and A-H joins the allies in 1916, USA faces revolution in 1918.
In 1919, allies humiliates the USA with the Toronto treaty. California is returned to Mexico, secession of southern states and New england, interdiction for more than 250 000 troops etc.
A Nationalist party arise in the rump USA, put the economy back on track and rearme.
In 1938, they launch a war to reclaim all lost US territories. Greater Germany joins the allies once more when the US have conquered North America and is invading South America.
Bulk of US troops in South America are contained then cut-off when British/German navies retakes control of the seas and launch major operations to recapture Panama, Venezuela & Colombian coast.
The 4 followings years sees the liberation of North America from US influence.
In April 1945, south and central american troops are besieging Washington.
