Challenge:A very different three branch system

Make this kind of three branch system appear at any point in history in a major power like country the only condition is that these three each have to have a Check in the check and balance system
The church
The Monarchy
The Senate/Parliment

Well, you're almost there with the French Estates General, so perhaps Louis XIV is not so successful, does not institue L'estate c'est moi and an English style development of Parliament into a body with real powers vs. the King is established.

Alt-Spain is moving in that direction in the Raptor of Spain. Right now you have absolute monarchy, but advisory opinions are sought from a committee of religious scholars that including Christians/Muslims/Jews. When a new king takes the throne, all the major nobles gather in a Royal Assembly to formally pledge to the new king and in times of crisis Royal Assemblies are called to raise taxes, etc. Technically the king could do it alone, but the practice sprang from initial weakness and reduces opposition. The church in this conception acts more like a Supreme Court in that delivers ecumenical opinions on whether laws or the actions of the king are contrary to the religions. Now being spread over a number of faiths, they spend most of their time bickering with each other which the king likes just fine, but on a number of occasions (968, 1019, 1045 comes to mind) the opinions have essentially legitimized one side in a power struggle.
