Challenge 1850 in 1936

Challenge is to make possible map of world from 1850 in 1936.

As no-one has even ventured to comment, I'll say that this looks incredibly unlikely unless something happens to deliberately freeze all the borders and nations. Some kind of workers revolution?

Any particular reason why 1936?

Here's a try:
The Ottaman Empire stays out of WWI. This lets the Allies do better, causing victory in 1916. However, Italy joins the Centrals, but loses just as bad. Later, the Ottamans take the leftover parts of Austria-Hungary. No Russian Revoultion, so, Russian Empire!
The Weimar goverment collapses earlier, and Germany splits into city-states and minor nations. Prussia is the only strong one left, and it shares many Nazi ideals, beside the anti-semitism. They are a monarchy.
Italy also splits apart after Mussolini takes over. Several states declare independence, eventually slitting all of Italy.
Map 1936!

In 1850 the Ionian Islands were British, southern Bessarabia and the Danube Delta were Russian, Montenegro was a tad smaller (and it was never an Ottoman vassal), Sweden and Norway were in a personal union, same for the Netherlands and Luxembourg, Neuchatel was Prussian (though only de jure), Wilhelmshaven wasn't, Poland (and possibly Lithuania) had a status similar to Finland's, and the German Confederation... well, the situation there was complicated.
