Challange Japan vs china

hey all this is a thread to see if the game i just played was realistic at all.

is it possable for japan to defeat china no later than may 1938 in the 2nd sino-japanesse war? also no pods before 1936.

also need ideas for what to do next, how would this effect the world later and affect ww2?

Unconditional? Full Annexation? Or simply putting a puppet ? Does it mean no organized resistance? The whole of China? Or just China proper?

dear hiiamthief,
assuming you are playng Making History, even with partesan mods, it is not particullary realistic, conquering China with any "power" apart from Japan is really easy and doable in less than a year.
It depends on the fact the IA never reacts to your moves outside the coded parameters, and the lack of immediate consequence on relations if you join a war by joining an alliance: by 1939 is quite easy to be in charge of bot all Spain and nearly all China....

i was playing hoi

@advernt um i ment china proper. pupet, annextion doesnt matter thats up to the emperor i ment just have the govenment give up.

For those who want to know the 'trigger' for the peace event are as follows;

China does not control; Nanjing, Shanghai or Hangzhou

and has lost 85% of it's country

and Japan is not at war with the Soviets (kind of redundant in the above example I woul think)

... this may or may not be useful to know what hiiamthief has achieved in the timeframe he has given

No.

Not a chance.

Too much China, too few Japanese. Even if the Japanese toss their navy out the window on 1/1/36 they lack the time and manufacturing capacity to create the military needed to fix and defeat China to the point of surrender by 12/31/38.

Might as well try to hold back the Pacific Ocean with one sandbag.

ok then i guess the only reason i could do it is because the game went completly ahistorical with some warlords siding with japan. and other small problems.

I dunno. Posit Mao killing Chiang in 1936; perhaps unintentionally, perhaps not.

Then weep for the future of China, as the warlordism lets the Japanese carve it up.

thats sorta what happened to me. 2 warlords allied with me, and chiang was still fighting the south and the communist for longer than otl and refusing peace with the south. one warlord couldent decide weather to fight china or japan so were out of position. soviet aid didnt come to china. and even when japan declared war chiang had most of his army in the east fighting my warlord allies.

so i won just because china was acting stupid. and i got lucky. (a snlf captured nanjing and long yun was able to capture the provinsial capital). and some other stupid things.

anyways wht would japan do after their impossable victory?

But even then, is that enough to cause the Chinese to surrender? If anything that gets the PLA up on its feet earlier, probaly with Mao eating a bullet.

The problem is that China has to surrender. That was NOT going to happen.
