Challange! Ernst Julius Röhm, a national-SOCIALIST III° reich

"second revolution" in Germany actually kiks in, as Röhm convinced Hitler of the necessity of it to get all power quikly before communists gains momentum in a depression caused revolution....

Now what?

Röhm also wanted to have the army join the SA. Now the SA was strong (3 million men), but not really fit for war. Would that happen in your TL either?

They were much too weak of course, but they at least were professionells. If Röhm had become Führer, he might've lead the SA into a war with Poland or France, and the result wouldn't have been nice.

People seem to assume that Roehm would have literally abolished the Army and invaded countries with street thugs. I have a feeling he'd more likely take a page out of the Russian book, mass conscripts backed with elite political divisions and NSDAP Kommissars! Punishment battalions as well.

One effect would perhaps be a more sincere attempt to unite all Germans, ie Swiss and Tyrolians as well. Germany vs the Stresa Front!

If the Strasser brothers have major influence, sincere ties with the Soviet Union might be forged as well (they saw Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia as natural allies)

Germans didn't long for "reunification" (if you can use that word here. Switzerland had been sort-of-independant since 1291) with the Swiss, they weren't even considered real Germans back then.

And even Hitler had enough reason to not trouble Mussolini with quarrels over South Tyrol.

Switzerland had been sort-of-independant since 1291

Well, 1291 is a an exaggeration, and most likely a myth - largely indenpendent since 1499 - yep - nominally independent since 1648 (like the Dutch..). Everything earlier were just leagues among various territories and Free Imperial cities, and such leagues had existed in other parts of the HRE as well, without leading to independence...

Rohm was always somewhat of a "beefsteak" Nazi (brown on the outside, red on the inside) and harboured an intense hatred for ther German upper classes. Should he ascend to lead Germany those classes will do their utmost to remove him and considering his various vices and lack of charisma, I doubt that they would fail.
