Chagas Plauge In Europe?

What if a species of Triatomine "Kissing Bugs" inhabited Europe at the time of the discovery of the New World?

Is it even remotely possible for a species of Triatomine to inhabit Europe?

Could this possibly allow for a Chagas plague to spread throughout the continent?

How devastating would the Chagas disease be to 15th Century Europe?

Could such an epidemic have an effect equal to the smallpox epidemic in North America?

Kissing bugs being native to Europe is a biological POD and is ASB.

Introducing them is a bit more realistic, though. Triatomine bugs' range extend all the way up to the Great Lakes, so parts of Europe with similar climes would be most at risk. I don't see how you can realistically introduce them however, short of a deliberate malicious introduction or somehow releasing a breeding population in a freak entomological accident.
