I was thinking about Polish commonwealth: to survive, it has to centralize, and this quickly. But in most of the contries, centralization led to absolutism and unchecked royal authority. This is negligible in most of the countries, since nobility was a very thin class and nobody really deplored them loosing their privileges.
But in Poland, a large part of the population could, through noble republic/monarch, take part in politics. Centralization would remove these participative mechanism.
So, the question is, how to save both Poland and its feudal regime?
