Central Victory WI: Revived Kingdom of ( Lombardy - ? ) Venetia

In a Central powers victory where Italy surrenders Venice and maybe Lombardy to Austria, and assuming A-H doesn't blow up, ( a big assumption but assume atleast the Austrian half reforms into a more Federal structure and keeps ticking along, and the Hungarians continue to be a problem but a show down with them doesn't come, atleast not immediately ), what are the long term prospects of the new Kingdom within the Hapsburg Monarchy?

Is it at all possible the people would accept autonomy, with specific Venetian identity played up within a Federal Empire, or would the elected government be opposed to the very existence of Austria at every turn possible and be in active conspiracy to rejoin Italy at every moment?

I doubt that AH would want these territories back. Nevertheless, it might be - but then they'll regret it sooner or later. They'll have yet another minority with a well established ethnic identity and a foreign ally which is agaisnt any form of central government.

Definitively the latter. Just look how well integrating Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia went. Or the French attempts to foster (non-existant) Rhenish separatism. And AH will have a hard time actually surviving even a victorious WWI. Annexing any more territory means certain death. And once Germany gets a government that sees no need anymore to keep AH around (either SPD or ultra-nationalist would do), AH is doomed anyways.

The smart thing in this case is: don't even try such move, the war has alredy shacken the A-H state another problematic minority is not what they need.
The problem is that the people on charge in Vienna will probably not even think about the smart move and go to annex at least Venetia and probably Lombardy (so to punish Italy the traitor ally ).
The moment the A-H crumble Italy will get back the territory lost with probably some other (depend on how the empire die)

I fully agree.

For A-H it would be the wisest ask from Italy Regia Marina and demilitarised zone in border area.
;)

I suspect that an independent kingdom might be possible though under some CP-friendly dynasty, especially if said kingdom is limited to Veneto.
