CENTRAL POWERS VICTORIOUS!! What happens to Ethiopia?

So when discussing a Central Power victory, I was always interested in the effects of distant independent nations.

My question, is what happens to Abyssinia, now that the central Powers won ww1?

my thought was that now that Italy is weakened from losing the war, the Germans (with MittelAfrika Djibouti) would modernize the Abyssinian military, so when justification comes, they could invade Italy's colonies of Somalia. Then, if the British want to get revenge, the Germans have a native African power that can keep British Africa occupied.

At least that's my opinion.

What do you think?

They would probably give Italy's Somalian colonies to the Dervish State since they were also on the Central Powers. Ethiopia I think would stay neutral, but I figure Germany could convince them to ally with the Dervish state as long as they're granted connection to the sea via what would be Eritrea. Furthermore, it wold probably benefit Ethiopia since they'd also be surroudned with not only the Dervish, but Darfur as well, which would make them a strong block.

Egypt it would all depend if the Brits keep it or if it becomes neutral or if it goes to the Ottomans (who would've reinforced their Ha'il allies with German help to crush the British-back Sauds and reinforce their hold on the peninsula while pissibly becomig strong again through the oil.)

Maybe they'd split it, you know Dervish get Somalia, but the Ethiopians get Somaliland. I mean though, there right next to the Suez (which is probably ruled by Germany) so Germans may stop at some Abyssinian ports. And Ethiopia would benefit highly from Trade, especially since they're also close to the Ottomans. Since they have a ton of Oil, Ethiopia, with a lot of German trade would probably have some pretty good living standards, and railroads.

Dervish would also be pretty powerful as well, along with Ethiopia.

I think Ethiopia, and the Dervish might actually join the Central Powers formally. I mean it would make it so that Egypt can't really expand. If Egypt wants to go to war with the Ottomans, they're gonna have to deal with an industrialized Ethiopia, and Dervish state.

Darfur, Ethopia and Dervish state would form some sort of triple alliance I reckon. Probably as teritary members of the group.

Granted, it'd all depend with tbe Dervish and sich, bu they might be able to come up with an agreement with Ethiopia. I also reckon Ethopia's Tewahedo Christians would probably get preferential treatment over other Christians in the area.

Yeah probably. But they'd have stellar relations with the Central Powers post-war. I think Abyssinia might help Germany with the rule in MittelAfrika a bit, maybe as some sort of African example or something, or to bring the African life to the Kaiser. If you know what I'm saying?

Though there may be a little tension with the Orthodox Christians. I think their relations with Russia might be a strain, because they were technically enemies.

What reason would Ethiopia have to expand beyond the colonies of Italian Eritrea and/or French Somaliland?

Also, I don't think that the Ethiopians would formally join the Central Powers until it was clear that the Central Powers was winning (i.e. in 1916 or 1918?) and wouldn't there be conflict between Ethiopia and the Dervish State? The Ethiopians collaborated with Britain, France and Italy in attempting to wipe out the resistance carried out by the Mad Mullah who had a base in the Ogaden which was the predominantly Somali region bordering British and Italian Somaliland. Same could be considered for Darfur which is mostly Muslim and is likely to oppose the Ethiopian Orthodox Christians in their expansion into the Horn of Africa and could ally themselves with the Dervish State to double team Ethiopia.

There's also the issue of Somali irrendentism in which the Mad Mullah/Somalis may want to establish a Greater Somalia which would include 1/3 of Ethiopian territory and could result in an Somali invasion just like the Ogaden War in the late 70s.
