What would have been necessary for the Central Powers to win WW1/a similar conflict.
I am talking about "small PODs" ,"medium PODs" and "large PODs".
Small PODs essentially use the situation in 1914 as a basis and explore how different decisions could have affected a TL. For example: Different tactics are employed in battle that in OTL was lost.
Medium PODs explore how earlier PODs might have affected a TL where the geopolitical situation is largely the same as in OTL. For example: A different strategic school of thought takes hold in the German General Staff prior to WW1, leading to a "Russia first" mindset instead of the Schlieffenplan.
Large PODs allow a completely different geopolitical with PODs that might have happened in the mid 19th century. For example: Germany never enters a naval arms race with GB.
With a "large POD" WW1 as we know it might never happen. To limit the amount of possible scenarios a WW1 equivalent needs to happen before the 1930s. A conflict is "equivalent" to WW1 when two alliance systems consisting of European Great Powers are drawn into a full scale war. One of the Alliance systems must at least include Germany and/or A-H. Bonus points if the war actually reaches global dimensions.
As a side-note: I would be very happy about suggestions for good WW1 timelines.
