Catalan attempt of independence ( 2017-present )

2017 , The now famous Catalan Independence referendum is held , it controversially passes , the Catalan Government declares independence, Spain sends in it's martial forces and the Catalan Government flees to Brussels. Till this point, it's the same as in our timeline. What if , Spain's supression of the Catalans had resulted in a harder backlash than that happened in our timeline . Catalans in the Spanish armed forces ( including the civil gaurd that ended up supressing the independence movement ) leave their posts , and together with extremists among the angered citizenry , they conduct essentially terror attacks against key symbols of the Spanish Government ( civil gaurd outposts and convoys , administrative buildings of the central government in Catalonia) , furthermore anger spreads in other Catalan speaking regions in Spain and in France as activists flee Catalonia main to Valencia, Majorca, Andorra ( arguably not Catalan speaking but still harbouring the fleeing activists ) and French Catalonia. Here they continue both violent and non violent campaigns of independence , to which , the Spanish Government , already paranoid with the situation in Catalonia main , responds harshly ( National gaurd lockdowns and preliminary arrests in Valencia and Majorca , not Andorra and French Catalonia for obvious reasons ) which sends previously passive Catalans in these regions into anger as they ( only somewhat) join the Catalans in Catalonia proper in protests , which provides fuel to the already going fire and violence spreads into these regions too. Meanwhile the Catalan Government in exile non-publically starts raising funds for Catalan seperatist militant groups while still maintaining the mask of non-violence infront of Brussels. With Arms flowing into the hands of pissed off Catalans , how does the situation proceed from here?

( Sidenote 1 : The Enclave town of Llívia in France confirmed the declaration of independence by the Catalan Government in Barcelona and essentially is the only part of Catalonia practically fully independent from both Spain and France as Spain couldn't send it's troops over french territory to get there . For now temporarily , The town's Local government handles all practical governmental functions and the exiled Goverment in Brussels all Symbolic Functions )

( Sidenote 2 : Attached is a picture of all Catalan speaking regions according to Wikipedia and various seperatist groups ITTL are claiming all of territory in both greens for independence with the Government in exile in Brussels remaining ambiguous about wanting independence for Valencia, Majorca and French Catalonia too for obvious reasons)

( Sidenote 3 : The Governments of Majorca and Valencia practically remaining ambiguous on whether they want independence too and Pyrénées-Orientale's ( essentially French Catalonia ) Local government saying they don't)

Given how recent this was, it might be worth moving this to chat. TLs involving current politics tend to live there.

However, I don't know a lot about Spanish politics and this looks interesting, will sub for this.

Those Catalans in the armed forces tend to be of a quite conservative mindset, so I think they would be quite happy in the ranks.

Terrorist attacks would wipe out any international support, and it wouldn't work. Remember ETA.

If any Catalan independentists would have to flee, I doubt they would choose Valencia. Madrid would be safer, if you allow me the joke.

In Andorra Catalan is the official languages of the country since 1993.
