Castro shot while entering liberated Habana

Raul takes over and matters proceed similar to OTL; his views were much the same as Fidel's. Fidel's death is blamed on, oh, the Mafia, the exiles, the CIA, or whoever else is handy, and he becomes a martyr.

On Raul, he seemed more pragmatic, calmer and less ideological - albeit paradocaly rigid, to me. Maybe.

What would have changed. Posted this to make the mob, americans and exiles drool.

Assuming he's actually killed, and not just pissed off, things go like OTL, but with Castro as a martyr, while Raul, Che and the other Communists in the 26th of July movement taking over.
Maybe Matos and Urrutia have a better shot at keeping the Government more Nationalist then Communists, and purging the hardliners, but that's unlikely given how much control Raul and Che have over the Military, especially with Almeida in more or less overall control of the FAR.

Ironically, this means that while the USSR is less likely to become Cuba's bitch, they'll still be involved in exporting the revolution to places like Nigeria and Angola when they can.
Even if it's just a dozen infantrymen plus Che, Víctor Dreke and a possibly stolen T-55, they'll still do it.
