Cartomancy

Saw Mary Gentle's new collection of short stories, Cartomancy, on the shelves for the first time today. It's not all AH, and several of the stories have featured in previous collections. However, it includes "The Logistics of Carthage" (set in the universe of "Ash": 15th-century African Visigoths, Burgundy, etc) and "The Road to Jerusalem" (AH late 20th-century setting, Burgundian Europe conducting police actions against Tokugawa-backed "Indo-Saracen terrorists" in North America); I've seen this one in magazine and web publication but not in a book before. It reads like the opening to a novel she never got round to writing, but I've always liked it.
