Canada-Carolina Flip

For a long time i have been trying to figure out a POD that would have Britain keep control of north and south carolina, georgia and Florida west to french louisana instead of canada. Basically it would make britain carbiean focused and make slavery much less of an issue for the US.Also it would change expansion for both the US and British North America.

My main POD's right now are

A collaspe of the Hudson Bay company and the fur trade around 1700- 1720 making Canada less populated and the canadains provinces then being tied into the 13 colonies.

No 1774 Quebec act and a harsher anti french governer supporting the revolution at least leading to Canada siding with the American's

A stronger Spanish threat to the south meaning larger regular troop strength to the south and more of a reason for the south to want to stay in the union.

I have also thought about removing France as a colonial power but i think that would be alot of butterflies and take me farther away from the timeline i want to do.

I want to know how orginal and pausible this idea seems and suggestion for the POD

Hmm keeping South Carolina and Georgia in the British Empire is not too difficult, they were very reluctant to join the Revolution anyway and had some of the more loyal citizens. Basically just have the loyalists have more sway and those two states remain in the Empire.

As for Canada I doubt this same POD can get an American Canada, however if after the war the south remains part of Britain, than many of the loyalists may go there rather than Canada. Then the Americans are beginning to outnumber the British in Canada (Nova Scotia at least) after several years and begin requesting annexation into the USA. This leads to the War of 1812 which the Federalist Party in this alternate timeline actually supports and New England joins the war effort allowing for the annexation of Nova Scotia and maybe, just maybe (though its a bloody longshot) the rest of Canada as well.

????
The HBC has nothing whatsoever to do with Canada at this point.

The collapse of the HBC, for whatever reason, would if anything, STRENGTHEN Canada, as the HBC took all their furs out through Hudson's Bay (hence the name of the company). A weaker HBC might lead to a rival early proto-NWC (Northwest company out of Montreal) to deal with fur instead.

Besides, 1700-1720 the British are still contesting the Bay with the French.
