That would be nepotism at it's finest. Sorry to disappoint, but that's not happening.

Not exactly sure how that would count as nepotism, if either one of them got the nomination and asked the other to be their running mate, its up to the voters. But it's your TL. Still watching.

I've wondered some if Caroline should seek office OTL. name recognition + former ambassador + woman = good mix to get the Dem nod

Maybe not nepotism exactly. It's never been been done or even tried by a major party before. The other side would have a field day with it though. Like the Kennedys think so much of themselves that they had to run with each other. Glad your interested though!

New York, March 1, 2000: John F. Kennedy Jr. announces his intention to run for the senate seat of the retiring Daniel Moynihan.

March 2, 2000: Excerpt from an interview with John Kennedy Jr.
Reporter: The senate is a big first step. Why not first run for the house, like your sister or even your father?
JFK Jr.: I understand the magnitude of this step, and what it means to be a senator. I only wish to serve the people of New York, and even all the american people, to the best of my ability. I believe the best option for me to do that lies in the senate.
R: You don't feel that in some way you are overshadowing your sister and her accomplishments?
JFK Jr.: Not at all. Caroline has done great things in the house. I'm proud of her work, she is proud of her work. She will continue to do great things. Trust me, I've talked to Caroline at great length before making this decision, she supports me. I would not have made this decision, nor taken this step, without her approval.
R; Again though, why not let your sister seek the senate, she does have the experience. while you perhaps take her seat in the house?
JFK Jr.: The house shouldn't be looked at as lesser. They do great work there. I don't feel as if I need to start there though, no one should feel like they have to start there. Many great people have served in the senate without starting in the house, both of my uncles' namely. Not to diminish from the great works in the house. Caroline decided that the house was where she could do her best work at this time, I've decided my best work can be done in the senate. Finally, Caroline had no plans to seek the senate at this time. I would not have run if she had. I have her full support. Can we move on please?
R: Ok. Is this the first step in what many see as your eventual run for the presidency?
JFK Jr.: I'm running for senate. I understand that many have this feeling that the presidency is my birthright or something. That's not how the system works here in the United States. I'm reminded on a daily basis of who my father was and what he did, and tried to do for this country. However, I don't share the opinion that the presidency is mine by virtue of my father, or my last name.
