Byzantium as a Timurid tributary state

Like the OP says, is it possible for the Byzantines to be made into a tributary state by Timur? Say, after Timur shatters the Turks at Ankara, he decides to further humiliate them by subjecting them to heathen lords (the Emperors in Constantinople, or maybe Trebizond), and goes off to contemplate frying some bigger fish, namely China and India. There would be some resistance, of course, but on the whole could the Turks have really resisted? Manuel II Palaeologus was the emperor at the time in Constantinople, and Manuel III Komnenos ruled in Tebizond. Both had been in power for ten years and OTL would go on to rule for 10 to 20 more years, which means that their empires would be relatively stable. The biggest problem I could think of would be civil war between the Turks and Byzantines, who would have a hard time even getting troops to those areas, but what's Byzantine history without civil war?

why would he give muslim land to christians? if anything he would destroy the byzantines, force the turks to relocate to the byzantine lands, but its most likely that after his death byzantines will regain power and the turks will move back to ankara. so no real affect, weird isnt it ?

He might force the Byzzies to pay him tribute, in exchange for him not crossing over to the Balkans, but that is all. He wouldn't give them anything.

The Byzantines could also pay him more to crush the turkish lands as much as he possibly could, they did that a lot in order to keep raids out of their territory and to hurt their rivals.

even they block out the balkans, if he really wanted to, he could get to europe through the caspian and then the crimean
(but im not sure about how good timur was naval wise)

What I think

Why not? Im sure if the Byzantine Emperors were able to keep a healthy cash flow to the Timurids the Byzantines would have certian perks.
