(Byron Lives) Franco-Dutch Emnity

Byron survives a brush with malaria whilst fighting in Greece in 1824. Returning to Britain in 1828, his efforts in promoting the Greek plight to the British upper class ultimately leads to the Greek monarchy falling to a pro-British candidate in Leopold of Saxe-Coburg (1790-1865), who in OTL became King of Belgium. In TTL, the monarchy of the newly independent state of Belgium - which declares independence in 1830 – falls to a member of the French Orleanist dynasty: Louis, Duc d’Nemours (1814-96). Belgium’s declaration of independence is met by a Dutch invasion (1831), which is in turn countered by a mass mobilization of French forces, precipitating the First Franco-Dutch War (1831-).

How could such a war unfold? What were the respective strengths of armed forces at the time? I envisaged a partitioning of OTL Belgium into pro-Dutch Flanders and pro-French Wallonia after a series of wars of attrition...

Any ideas? Could other countries get dragged in?

Weren't both Flanders and Wallonia dominated by a French-speaking aristocracy at this time? I believe Flemish nationalism is a rather new thing.
