By how much did Germany affect the militaries of other coutries after the FPW

It seems to me that many countries based their military after that of the French before the Franco-Prussian war, since I believe it was the premiere military force at the time, by using Napoleonic tactics and wearing French style uniforms such as the kepi hat. But after Prussian defeated it and unified Germany after the FPW I've noticed things like Britain adapting pith helmets styled after German pickelhaubes. Was the adaption of this helmet design a cause of Britain emulating Germany and if so what other affects did Germany have on the militaries of countries around the earth.

White some of the externals of the German military may have been "popular" after the Franco-Prussian War the important influences were in the fields of tactics, staff work - the true general staff system, logistics - the highly coordinated RR mobilization system, and modern steel artillery.

Pretty much this. After 1871, reading German became mandatory for career officers and the works of German theorists and staff officers were translated into many languages. Given that "writing your first book" was as much a rite of passage for a German general staff officer as it was for a modern academic, there were a lot. Lessons were drawn: most European countries tried to emulate the German system of conscription with extensive reserves, their methods of mass mobilisation and logistical skill, and their tactical flexibility. Many countries at the periphery of the "Western" world directly imported German advisers to train their forces.

But most people still - rightly - thought the Pickelhaube looked silly.

I think Chile and Japan are the prime examples of countries switching to a Prussian model and Prussian advisers due greatly in part to the outcome of the Franco-Prussian War.

I generally agree with Sloreck, the concept of mobilisation and Transport are strategic rather than tactical though, but those who imitated France remained with it because there was nothing wrong with the French army's organizational concept or with their operational concepts and dogmas, don't forget many support Jomini as opposed to Clausevitz and I can recall trappings remaining the same (like the French ones) In Eastern European armies,Italy,Switzerland,Yugoslavia,Greece etc.

Of course everyone studies von Seect and Guderian...
