Hi! First time poster here. I have several ideas for alternate history scenarios. This one is more recent than others. Back in 2000, the race for the Republican Presidential nomination was focusing on South Carolina. Bush dealt McCain a damaging blow from which he never recovered. But what if Bush lost? (I do have a change point- and it's rather obscure.)
Afterwards, I do intend for McCain to win the election, but I do need some advice. Who would his VP pick be (I'm leaning towards Lindsey Graham)? Could he deal with losing the Religious Right vote? Once he is president, what policy changes would he have made that Bush wouldn't (I know his tax cuts would be smallrer, and he'd push for Campaign Finance Reform.)? Would he take a tougher stand on China? What would his reaction to 9/11 be? How would his "Rogue State Rollback" plan begin? What would the implications of his actions be on the larger world?
(I do have a few ideas on how this will effect others as well...)
Try to avoid political debates here.
