Buddhism and Hinduism survive in indonesia

Hm, didn't the Chinese and Portuguese navies have a noticeable impact upon the Indian Ocean Trade? Would it be safe to assume they were a component of the context behind militant relations between the Islamic and Hindu states of the 15th and 16th Centuries?

When the Portuguese arrived Islam wasn't surely rooted in Indonesian culture, however, Muslim states dates back to, at least, the 1300's IIRC. In my opinion, if the Portuguese occupy all the centers of Islamic expansion in the Archipelago Hinduism Buddhism and Native religions will probably be relevant ouside the urban areas, where of course Catholicism will be prodominant.

By Portuguese arrival, Islam was already sure to root. If Portugal wants to reverse that process they'll need a lot more resources to back their imperial adventure in the region, and perhaps arrive a century earlier.
