Is there a way to make Britpop way more popular than it was in OTL?
I guess the Americans never got into Britpop any deeper than the big name bands, and even they weren't as popular as second-wave grunge bands, and after grunge's ugly head sank beneath the murky waters, rock/pop as whole started taking second stage to solo singers, manufactured music and hip-hop. To make things worse, "alternate rock" became another word for grunge rip-offs with bad singers trying to make it on the radio.
But what if Americans welcome Britpop as they did the British Music of the 60s, with media billing it as a second British Invasion? Well, I mean Britpop really kicking off a massive renewal of the rock/pop format in the US to the point that hip-hop never gets a chance to fill the role it did in OTL... insane Britpop supremacy, is I am going for here. How can it be done? Kill off grunge, for once, but what else can contribute to a britpop wank?
And what would be the music like today?
