In the period 1950-2000, in the United Kingdom, the Conservative Party was in office for approximately 35 years, compared to Labour's 15 years. This lead of course to the well-known mantra that the Conservatives are the 'natural party of government.'

It is often said that in most Western nations right-of-centre parties have similarly dominated, although there are of course notable exception such as the Nordic Social Democratic Parties. Since the 1930's Swedish politics have almost been totally dominated by the Social Democrats (although often in coalition with other parties).

With a POD no later than 1950 what would be the circumstances that led to a similar Labour domination of UK Politics? How would the Labour Party have developed differently? What would the effects be on other parties?

Bonus points if you can make the POD no later than early 1930's.
