British involvement in an earlier Civil War?

If the US Civil War had occurred 5-15 years earlier than OTL, for similar reasons, would it make British involvement more or less likely?

You mean just after the war with Mexico? I think that if it´s before 1853 it´s possible for the UK to join(don´t know how likely) but after the start of the Crimean war certainly less so.

Yeah, just after the war with Mexico, or in an alternate timeline with no Mexican-American War.
