British colonies without WW1

Not exactly althist but anyways....

If Britain doesn't nearly ruin itself in WW1 economically how would their colonies develop? It's not really important why Britain is in such position, quick CP victory, Britain not getting involved whatever. I'm thinking anti-colonialism wouldn't be as strong, specially if there is no WW2 Japanese early successes.

Me thinks some sort of self-rule but well short of independance, increased involvement of locals in local bureaucracy but British frimly in control of top levels and critical posts.

thoughts?

You must be thinking of India and assorted African possessions (excluding South Africa), Singapore, Hong Kong, various Pacific Islands and British Honduras, to name a few that weren't dominions.

Aside from issues with Britain, India had issues with itself. These finally boiled over into the bloody riots that were the partition. India couldn't become a dominion without a federal structure or the formation of a separate northern state/dominion of Pakistan.
