Are you suggesting Britain install a Chancellor in Germany after The Great War like the Raj in India; an external Governor?
You have to remember that Germany after the First World War wasn’t a wholly occupied country. Yes the British had an army of occupation in part of the country but that was in a limited area and was so that Germany complied with the armistice it wasn’t intended to be permanent or occupy the entire country.
I think you’d need big changes to circumstances for a British installed Chancellor to be feasible, and if you did all you’d see is German rebellion.
