British Brazil!

As I was doing research for a British victory in the Second Anglo-Dutch War I came up with a weird idea. The POD is the Dutch manage to hold on to their part of Brazil meanwhile the British have a better equipped army so when the Second Anglo Dutch War the British end up with all of the Dutch possessions in the Americas (and maybe else where) including Recife.

So is this possible and what would happen in this scenario if it is?

There are three problems with this scenario.
First: the Dutch won the second Anglo-Dutch war. This of course could be changed.
Secondly: the peace treaties in those days were never so harsh that you would lose all colonies in America. Which is why the Dutch gave the English New Amsterdam, while they kept the far more important Surinam (and British Guyana).

Thirdly and most importantly: You need a lot of changes to Dutch Brasil for the Dutch to keep it reliable. These would strengthen the position of the Netherlands in the Americas, making it even more unlikely for the English to win this war or to butterfly it away.

this sounds like an eu 2 game i just finished - i took brasil from portugal in the 1700's. due to game mechanics by the end all settled provinces bar the minas gerais were anglosaxon protestants
