Those of you who know me well know that I am a total train freak with a background in 20th century history. So imagine my suprise the other day when I cam across this wikipedia article.

And an idea on how containerisation and intergrated freight was to solve
the break of gauge problem
So , my question to you railfans is , does anyone know any more of this? If not (and my research suggests that date is hard to find) , then lets have a general Alt-HST thread , preferably involving streamlined diesels
