Ignoring the butterflies for a moment supposing that Brandenburg had never inherited the Duchy of Prussia - Sigismund II Augustus decides not to allow inheritance via Albert Frederick's daughter - but owned Pomerania and Silesia, do people think that Frederick II would have still participated in the First Partition of Poland? By most accounts he was virulently anti-Polish and not exactly above a little territorial aggrandisement if he thought he could get away with it, however I was wondering if there might not be chance of his actually supporting the Commonwealth, for a price, if only to try and block Russia from expanding.
