Well, since both parties actively sought Quebec votes as nescessary to win the elections, I think you'd see our good Prime Minister tread a VERY fine line (hopefully).
Now who was the Prime Minister at the time... Oh man, poor Laurier. Ah, well maybe the great concilliator can pull it off.![]()
Yeah, that's the one good bit: FC Brit Laurier might have a chance at pulling this out of the fire. And the FCs aren't as riled as they'd be even by WWI - although this is a good way to get them riled up, especially if the Fashoda War actually turns into WWI-alike.
...Well, he's better off than Robert "Screw the French" Borden or Arthur "0% approval rating" Meighen would be, at any rate.
Any good Fashoda timelines that cover this, or just good Fashoda TLs in general? I want an excuse to start thinking about this.![]()
I have one. It's a work in progress. See sig. I didn't think it would be a big deal.
Wouldn't this somewhat depend upon the scope of the war and the commitment Canada is required to make? Quebec has been British Canadian for 135 years at this point so it may not be that huge of deal. Perhaps the French Canadians can be sent to South Africa to fight the Boers while Anglo Canadians are dispatched to the Sudan or other areas to confront the French?
