Bonnie Prince Charlie has a son

So a what if scenario here. In 1772, Bonnie Prince Charlie, last of the Jacobite Pretenders married Princess Louise of Stolberg-Gedern, but would have no issue from this marriage. Now let's change that, let's say that a son named either CHarles or James is born to the royal couple in 1774, and let's also say that Charles received recognition from the Papacy as King of Great Britain. In a scenario where there is a lot of anger and resentment against the Hannoverians for the loss of American, what might it take for people to look at this son of Charles, a confident, promising young man, who is also flexible on religion, and think about maybe supporting him?

Technically, if you believe a certain Dr Beaton, Louise was delivered of a healthy son during her visit to the Convent of Santa Rosalia in '74/'75.

Interesting, do you think that the boy could stand a chance of claiming the throne, if the people were greatly angered with Hannoverians?

Not really. Esp. if Louise carries on as she did OTL. Then you will hear rumors of BPC not being the father of the boy or somesuch. Plus, between 1745 and 1775, a whole generation has been born and another has died off (the one who doesn't remember the Stuarts and the one that took part in the '15/'45), so the Hannoverians would have to piss them off something grand to get a Stuart restoration right this late in the game. OTOH, Napoleon summoned Louise to Paris to verify if the rumors were true that she had borne a Stuart heir, since he intended to use the heir then to bait/threaten Britain with. So, perhaps a Napoleonic kingdom of Ireland? However, it will be noted that Henry IX, when Napoleon wrote to him, merely corrected Napoleon's address in saying that monarchs addressed one another as 'brother/cousin', and then went back to peremptorily ignoring the Corsican. So the Stuarts, even if the French are willing to support a puppet monarchy in Ireland, might still be unwilling to join a regime that toppled the one that was paying their pensions

Hmm interesting, what would it take for the Hannoverians to really piss off the people enough for them to want the Stuarts back? Alternatively, who could serve as an alternate wife for Bonnie Prince Charlie/

Depends when Charlie marries. OTL, they could only scare up Luise of Stolberg 'cause her sister married the duke of Berwick/duc de FitzJames. In the '45 and later, there had been plans to marry him to one of Louis XV's daughters - either Madame Adélaïde or Madame Louise - while his mistress at Avignon, the Princess Jablonowska, wrote that Charles was considering a match with a Princess of Hesse - Anna Viktoria, OTL Princesse de Rohan, niece of the Queen of Sardinia, the princesse de Carignan and the princesse de Condé.
