Boer uprising WWI

The Boers had no problems with the Germans and plenty of issues with the Brits. What if they sided with the Central Powers and fought against the British?

My guess is the uprising would fall apart after a short and victorious British-South African campaign. There are no hard feelings from the victors, and German Southwest Africa falls easily the following spring.

what about Von Lettow-Vorbeck the only undefeated German General at the end of WW1? let say he hooks up with the Boers and the Emdem flotilla manages to be more successful (or the Kaiser detaches more ships) and they become more successful and cause some serious problems for the British route to India and the germans manage resupply via this success

Wait was there an original Boer War in Africa before the Great War or is the Boer War happening in 1915/1916

He's asking what would happen if Boer hardliners still mulling over defeat in the Second Boer War rose in revolt against the British Empire during the Great War, which is exactly what happened in real life in a way I had "predicted" in an earlier post.

By the time the rebellion in South Africa even breaks out, Lettow-Vorbeck is already busy in German East Africa, and the Emdem wrecked around the same time.

Rather ironically the revolt was put down by some of the top Boer commanders from the South African War (e.g. Smuts). The English speaking regiments of the SA Army were purposely excluded from the campaign and it was solely fought by Afrikaners on both sides.
