59. Egypt - Democratic
  • 3. Do a ConMon Egypt in Kaiserreich.

Egypt was on a steady path of modernization, liberalization, and militarization. The main target, was the Ottoman Empire, which threatened the independence of all Arab peoples and their regional neighbors. Egypt secured an alliance with the Iranians, and provided weapons for arab revolters. The Idea was that the various revolters would join under King Farouk, allowing him dominion over all. However, after victory, the Rashidun Arabs grumbled at not receiving Levantine territories. Their king declared himself caliph, but the Egyptians put him down. Since the Entente were weak, and Morocco insulted Egypt, Egpt invaded North Africa to get to Morocco. Swiping up all of French West Africa was a nice bonus. Now it was time for the showdown with Ethiopia. However, there were not enough metals and such resources to produce the artillery that the army would need to overcome Ethiopian manpower advantages, so Egypt moved into various Middle-African countries to secure the mineral wealth there. Then once the army was properly provided for, they prepared to invade, and instead were delayed with a rebellion in Sudan. Then Ethiopia was finally taken over.

Egypt, controlling much of the Arab/Muslim world, having achieved great conquests, and controlling the Holy Cities, could well allow Farouk the opportunity to designate himself Caliph... and he would have the historic honor of being the first Constitutional Caliph to rule in accordance with Western-style democracy.

    60. Serbia - Democratic
  • 4. Do a Republican Serbia in Kaiserreich.

This was probably the longest game I've ever played, as usually I cut them off at a 10-year mark, but this went on past '47...
    Because it was difficult.

First, Serbia managed to get the jump on Bulgaria, securing Macedonia in the first month of war, then slowly ground down the rest of Bulgaria until total occupation was achieved. This was done to prepare Bulgaria for full integration into a future South Slavic state. Next, Egypt was wrecking the Ottomans, presenting a fine opportunity to retake the city of the world's desire, Constantinople. Also, the Greeks had betrayed the Belgrade Pact, so no need to share the spoils! The Ottomans were easier to defeat than Bulgaria. Serbia reclaimed the imperial city, along with Thrace and Agean territories. Anatolia was set up as a puppet occupation regime, subject to future integration.

Next, the Geeks were punished for leaving the alliance to instead go gallivanting with the Entente, who were once again wasting their armies failing to invade Britain. Since Egypt was grateful for the assistance against the Turks, they gave us permission to transit across their territory, to invade French North Africa. Also, the Turks still had a navy, which helped Serbia seize various Mediterranean islands.

However, the main prize was the yet un-liberated slavic territories held by Austria. Austria was helping the Reichspakt, and while Germany stood, no one would help Serbia against this much larger foe. So Serbia decided to give the Internationale a boost to help break the stalemate, so that we would have help against this final enemy...

First, Serbia moved from North Africa along the Moroccan coast to take the rest of German Africa. From Tunis, Serbia invaded Sicily, and ended Italian participation in the war. In Spain, the Kingdom was giving France much trouble, so units made the crossing at Gibralter to take them out. In the East, Russia had taken over the Baltics, Scandinavia, and Ukraine. The last front was the Western Front, and all was proceeding smoothly... So the time had come to invade Austria.

The French and Russians had pushed right up to the German borders, leaving them alone with no allies to distract the war effort. It would be only a matter of time before German defenses were breached. In this downtime, Serbia prepared its invasion army. Heavy Infantry Support Tanks was distributed to all divisions, adding some armor that would help with the breakthrough, while also reducing losses. Already, the manpower to fill a field army was tight even with all adult men in service. When Turkey was integrated, a third of a million of their manpower was added to buff up the invasion forces.

Then, Romania betrayed the alliance to join Germany, so Serbia quickly occupied them before they could interfere with the plan.

Finally, the dice were cast. Although the tanks did protect the men from unnecessary damage, the Austrians knew we would come, and had dug in deeply at the border. It took long, painful, concentrated attacks to bite-and-hold territory. This went exactly as the grinding trench warfare of old. For although the Serbians had superior tactical advantage with their tanks and air superiority, the Austrians had much larger industry, army, and manpower pool... or did they?
The losses of the first offensive meant Serbia had scape the bottom of the barrel, severly hurting factory output due to the amount of workers dragged into the frontlines. However, out spies report that Austria remains on peace-time conscription and have no reserves left. Every loss we inflict, they will not replenish. And while they have more industry, guns without soldiers do not win wars. So, the leadership of Serbia makes the painful decision to press on the attack, grinding down the enemy in brutal attrition, because our loss rates are equal, but we have a larger reserve.

Mathematically, victory is certain... the balance is clearly in our favor... at least... until the Japanese attacked.

The Japanese had been quietly conquering all of Asia, sniping away at vulnerable colonies, manipulating Chinese warlords. They even got in good grace with MacArthur by giving him back Hawaii, while having the same ideological outlook of control.

Now, the Japanese were suppressing syndicalist movements in Asia, which brought them into conflict with the Internationale, so they invaded Siberia, and used Portugal as a stepping stone to invade Europe. Spain fell, and the French borders were breached from the south. The Germans launched a desperate last offensive, which took France to its knees. Paris fell, the Russians lost Ukraine, allowing German units to pour through Romanian plains and threaten home soil! all hope was fading...

Then, suddenly, deliverance came when the Austrian lines collapsed. Having started the war with no reserves, the mounting losses meant that their army was disintegrating. Slowly at first, with the fall of Budapest, but then faster and faster, as weaker units gave more ground and lost more supply and became even weaker, putting them in a downward spiral. Vienna, Venice, and Stanislav fell. Serbian units rushed north to rescue Russia, passing along the Polish border to Lithuania, trapping large German armies in Ukraine. Although the Germans all but knocked France out of the war, with the Austrian surrender, Allied troops invaded Germany from their long undefended southern/eastern border. Germany surrendered, and the war was over.

Serbia has united not just all Southern Slavs, but the entire Balkans. Although many call for the new power to be named Yugoslavia, a proposed alternative could be the Republic of Byzantion.

    61. Brazil - Fascist
  • 5. Be an O R G A N I C M O N A R C H Y in Brazil and restore the Empire.

I’d like to second @Whiteshore ’s request to form the Empire of Brazil in Kaiserreich.

Brazil peacefully developed itself, while the rest of the world burned. The main foreign action was when Portugal collapsed to the internationale, so Brazil rushed to secure some colonies.

Although the Bourgeois powers far outnumber the revolutionaries, they are divided into their own monarchist and anti-monarchist factions, and even divided on democratic issues within their own factions. Thus, the position of the syndicalists is currently stable.

Brazil couldn't care less either way. An Entente collapse would mean an exploitable power vacuum, an Internationale collapse would an end to the threat of social upheaval, and neither side collapsing means business as usual with both sides, continuing profit for Brazil.

    62. Russia - Neutral/Monarchist + Democratic x2 + Fascist x2
  • Also do a Conservative/Wrangel and a SocDem/Irakli Tsereteli Russia (the former with Anastasia and the latter as a republic) and Fascist Russia (with both Kornilov and Kolchak paths) runs using this mod.

    FINALIZING SIMULATION
    REPORT:
    ChronoFlow Research Centre, Moscow Branch
    Multi-threat sampling test result on parameter <start: 1936> <subject country: Russia> <Wrangel is Dictator>
From these settings, we find that latent industrial development implies Russian ascent into global power to be inevitable, regardless of economic plan or government structure. The greatest hurdle to this development is the damage incurred by land invasion from the west. As such, each government regardless of ideology arrives at the same final conclusion, that building buffer territory in Eastern Europe is vital for protecting the Core, and that Germany should be made into a satellite.
However, there was one simulation that was abberrant, in that Russian leadership avoided conflict with the dominant European power, freeing enough energy to expand in all other directions.

The one outcome that was strangely consistent was the volatility of Japan's strategic and diplomatic position, despite attempting the same strategy each time.

Five top samples from the multithread of time presented below.
Sample A. Wrangel maintains dictatorial power, fights off Germany while securing influence over China. Japan is isolated.
Sample B. Wrangel is deposed in favor of an imposter posing as a royal pretender, the government uses this puppet to rid themselves of the dictatorship and move the country towards liberalism. The world war is fought successfully in Europe, though Japan manages to defeat the Allies at sea in Asia.
Sample C. Wrangel is deposed when political crisis leads to true democracy, which compromises with the local leftist movement. This time Japan fails at sea and is occupied by the USA
Sample D. Kornilov seizes power and his radical russia joins Japan in taking over China to secure a peace in Asia to concentrate on defeating enemies in Europe
Sample E. Colchak seizes power and his radical russia joins Germany in taking over Europe to secure the western border, allowing much manpower and industry that would have otherwise been lost to be used bringing the rest of the world into the submission of the Axis. Japan is defeated at sea and occupied by Russia, now styling itself "Eurasia"

    63. Poland - Democratic
  • neo-PLC Poland (go Democratic) in Kaiserreich ?

Poland needed new leadership, and also needed a territorial revival. One great step to accomplish both, was electing a lithuanian king, resulting in the annexation of lithuania into Poland. The Germans, facing crisis at home, could not stop it.
The Austrians also had a crisis, which presented a major opportunity for Poland to reunite its people in Galicia.
Hungary resisted the attempted military occupation by Austria, and the Hungarian army managed to mobilize and push the Austrians back to Vienna. So, the Poles jumped in, allying with Hungary in resistance against the habsburgs.
However, the Hungarian army ran out of supplies and collapsed, just as the polish units arrived to man the frontlines, recovering Budapest, and resuming the march on Vienna.
Later, the Serbians joined in to the take croatia for themselves.
However, after this conflict was done, the Romanians tried to take transylvania from Hungary. Poland defended Hungrary, but the Serbs betrayed the anti-Austrian alliance to help Romania.
Poland defeated both and installed friendly governments
Then, Poland turned east. The Russians were mired in a civil war against totalists, who also taken Ukraine. So Poland Seized eastern territory, giving the Russians back Petersburg and Moscow in exchange for Russian friendship.
Finally, Poland would complete its natural borders by finishing off Germany, which was distracted in the west against France. Polish artillery easily annihilated the few border units Germany had reserved for their long eastern borders, and the Poles marched straight to Berlin, claiming final victory.
By 1942, having suffered some 200,000 losses, Poland-Lithuania was now bigger and stronger than ever, in domination of Eastern Europe.

    64. France - Communist
  • Maybe you could do Sorelian France?

With the appointment of a pure-sorelian cabinet, France set about reshaping the world in its totalist utopian image! First, they bul- *ahem* convinced Switzerland into joining the revolution, giving France territory and extra armies to throw at the Germans. The time would come quickly, when the Dutch revolted against their decadent monarchy, and the Germans decided to intervene. France quickly mobilized to take advantage of the Germans being distracted, leaving the border undefended. By concentrating motorized units on the proper border provinces, France was able to bypass most of the fortifications, securing a frontline deep within the Rhineland before German reserves stabilized the new front.

Then, France's new armored divisions punched a hole through the Fulda Gap, splitting Germany into two zones, while opening the way to Berlin. At this point, Austria and the Entente intervened in the war to stop the Syndicalist-Totalist forces, but they were too late to save Berlin. Although the capital of the mightly reich fell, the arrival of allies from around the world was enough to keep Germany afloat, and they fought on until after Vienna and Budapest were captured. Pressing forward, the French suffered high casualties despite the string of constant battlefield victories. This aggressive approach denied the Germans any respite or regrouping, and they kept falling back...
However, the front lines were stretched very thin, and at this momment, the Entente struck back, with large naval landings in Aquitaine in the West and the southern coast from Tolouse to Nice, and in Belgium. From the north, units were able to get past calais and get all the way to the suburbs of Paris, before emergency redeployment stopped them from besieging the capital of the world revolution.
Other armies were assembled to push back the landings in the South, which had captured vast swathes of territory, jeopardizing the industrial and logistical situation of France.

Although the Reactionary forces were crushed in short order, this large disruption meant serious delays before the conquest of Germany could be finalized.
Once they had capitulated, Armies were sent to new fronts, which being secondary and tertiary in nature, had been ignored until then. In Spain, the defeated radicals were avenged. Scandinavia was brought to heel. From Spain, an army moved into Morocco, and from there broke out into Africa, crushing all resistance in its path.

All other forces were gathered on the Russian and Balkan borders to deal with the final European power that hid still not embraced the revolution. Although russia was vast, France's mobile units made short work of their territory.
From there, the capture of Eurasia and Africa was just a matter of the dominoes falling into place.

In America, Syndicalist forces had been pushed back in the north by the Canadians, and had been pushed to the mississippi by the PSA, and harassed in the East and Southern seaboards by various entente raids and blockades. However, with the capture of New Orleans, the French could send an army over the Atlantic to rescue the faltering CSA, heroically arriving at the turn of the tide.

Along with the re-unification of China, fighting around the world is drawing to a close, so the PSA and what was left of the Canadians signed a ceasefire agreement to end the bloodshed. The peace will probably not last, but for now, the world takes a breath of relief.

    65. Beornia/Britain - Fascist
  • Yes, it's the Victoria 2 mod, maybe you could play as Beornia (English argentina) and reconquer the british isles, or play as Lusitania (Portuguese texas and a releasable nation from Gran colombia) and conquer portugal+galicia, and yes the mod has a lot of "return home/reconquer lost land" campaigns

Alternated between Beornia and lusitania every decade. By the end of 1935, Lusitania, unable to compete with other arcadian countries for immigrants and industry, fell far behind the industrial might of France, which had taken over protection of Spain. Along with the assimilation of moost of Portugal into Iberia, national rebirth of the homeland is an ever more fleeting goal...
On the other hand, although confined to the southern cone with a smaller population, Beornia managed to reform the monarchy enough to appeal to mass immigration. Industry was expanded by order of the king despite loss of profit in order to prepare the country for future confrontation to reclaim the homeland. This long-term strategy became solidified when French political instability and economic collapse immediately following the pyrrhic victory over Germany and Burgundy in the First Great War. Amidst this chaos, Ireland, Netherlands, and England became independent countries. The Irish were quickly re-absorbed, but England managed to raise armies to protect their borders. Scotland remained loyal to France to keep being protected from England.

Although England had thrown off the yoke of the French state, French elites continued their dominion over the common english folk, and the English republic was run by a dictatorial ethnic Anglois party. English diplomatic isolation raised hopes that Beornia would be able to take the country over from the ethnically foreign overlords.

In 1936, the king quietly assented when the rising fascist party overthrew the elected liberal regime to declare the Britannian Empire.

The Inca, having claimed territories settled by Beornia, first had to be crushed before armies could be sent to Europe. Then, an alliance with France was signed in order to use Scotland as a staging ground for the liberation of the homeland. Although the English had more divisions, their decadent regime had been slow to mobilize the economy for war production, meaning they had no heavy equipment and no manpower reserves. After a few months of brutal pushing through the highlands of northern England, the enemy was ground down under superior firepower, and spearheads broke out from the frontlines, liberating the rest of the country.
France was grateful that the English were destroyed, as their participation in the war meant that Poland and Muscovy would refuse surrender. But with no Great Powers resistingv France, they capitulated to the fascist invaders, While England secured the rest of the South America.

Now, Arcadia and Japan are the only non-fascist major powers, leading various free societies against the growing aggression of France and Italy.

    67. Australia - Democratic
  • Vic2-hoi4 as Australia

Although loyal to the English motherland, Australia is a Great Power in its own right, and very much the tail that wags the dog of the British Commonwealth.
Global democracy is safeguarded by the Anglo-German concordat. Autocratic monarchies endure in Turkey and Japan, but in Southern europe, terrible economic crisis along with military disaster has caused radical fascists and communists to try their hand at ultimate governance. The reds came out on top.

As for the internal situation in Australia, it was decided very early on that Australia would be a project to bring England closer to Utopia, so political reforms were chased to implement not just a good democracy, but economic reforms protected the rights of workers, and made the country and uniquely safe and fair place for people of all classes. This stability and prosperity attracted millions of immigrants, who built up and developed Australia, especially its industry, which in turn increased its prosperity and power.

  • France in The Gates of Versailles?

Long ago, Napoleon betrayed the revolution, replacing the idealism of the republic with a new decadent dynasty. After the carnage of the first world war, the people of Europe are finally taking another change to throw off their chains.

France is the epicenter of the development of human rights and progress. From there, a fleet and army was assembled to liberate the world. The reactionaries in Britain, mislead by their monarchists, provoked France with attacks in the Channel. In response, France was able to use a fleet of submarines and land-based aircraft to close the straights, allowing a french army to cross the water, finally accomplishing what french armies had failed to do for hundreds of years.

With the main rival defeated, french forces assembled a great army of tanks, advancing as a wide bulldozer, toppling governments one by one from west to east, until the furthest reaches of Russia and the pacific island colonies were liberated.

    69. Bonus Round III - Imperator Rome
  • After the death of Alexander the Great, his generals greedily tore apart his empire, not just establishing their own successor states, but each warring against the others to capture as much vulnerable territory as possible. In the midst of this chaos, the Persians chafed under Greek rule. Under the leadership of a minor median lord, they gradually joined the uprising against the Seleucids until a solid base had been established. From the core of Persia, border regions were conquered in turn. Parthia, Anatolia, Babylonia, Egypt, India. All bowed before the might of Persia restored. The Macedonians, ejected from their ventures in Asia, turned north, establishing colonies along the major river systems, and using fort systems to enclose the basin plains of Pannonia and Dacia. From there rich agricultural lands, further exapansion was fueled to bring the hand of civilization to the barbarous tribes beyond.

Meanwhile, the Gauls were almost united by a dominant tribe from the north, however this tribe succumbed to in-fighting and disintegrated. However, the seed of unity was planted in the minds of many tribal leaders, and so the unification of the Gauls was completed by a more centrally located tribe. After Gaulic unification, the pressed into Italia, defeating the upstart Romans and securing Iberia from the Carthaginians.

Defeated, humiliated by would-be barbarians, decimated by endless civil strife, the Romans and Carthaginians found much common ground and were able to lean on each other to preserve their independence from the larger empires closing in on them from all sides....

    70. China - Democratic
  • Manchu Restoration (Yan Xishan and YCP Qing)

For the first few years, we really struggled pacifying the North. But right when we finally turned the tide against the Fengtian false manchus, the Japanese intervened to protect the new puppet regime they installed there. At first, the initial Japanese offensives were devastating. However, this ironically gave the Japanese too much confidence while at the same time frightening the rest of China. Thus, once Japan tried to seize Shandong, the rest of the Chinese warlords agreed to peace with each other to form the United Front to expel the foreign invaders.
We also had help from Russia and the Entente.
Although the warlords remain functionally independent, and the southerners have declared their rival federal government, it is only a matter of time before the legitimate monarchy uses its superior industrial and population base in the North to absorb the wayward autonomous regions back into a unified China.

    71. Galactic Empire - Imperialist
  • Try the darth Vader mod for star wars

The super star destroyer Executor crash lands on Earth, near the Persian gulf in the desert of Kuwait. After beginning repair in secrecy, the stormtroopers set out to quickly subjugate neighboring regions to bring their resources to the reconstruction effort. Arab countries are quickly overrun with superior weaponry, even though stormtrooper numbers are limited. To maintain order, the Empire begins recruiting locals, paying them well. To improve the industrial base of the Executor command post, the conquered lands are uplifted. Additional territories beckon. Taking advantage of British distraction with fighting in Europe, the Empire takes over Iran. Soon after, a civil war in Turkey allows the Empire to quickly bypass the undefended border and seize the strategically placed country.

By this time, the rest of world begins to understand the presence of the aliens, however the world is already locked in a three-way war between the western democracies, fascists, and communists.

By allying with the Western Democracies, the Empire is able to guarantee the safety of its colonial borders from naval invasion while concentrating its small but heavily armored army into overrunning the Eurasian landmass. Pushing the Caucasus all the way to Korea, the only barrier stopping the advance is the sea. Without enough airborne craft to land an invasion of Japan, the army waits while enough sea units are produced to distract the Japanese Navy. Once the way is cleared, the Japanese defenders find themselves completely outmaneuvered by repulsor tanks, who are able to ignore terrain difficulties by simply hovering over them. The mountainous island country, once though un-invadable was taken in short order.

Now that the dust settles, Darth Vader petitions the United Nation to join his dominion to the rest of Humanity. However, western leaders are suspicious, since allowing the Empire to participate in the U.N. would simply allow Darth Vader to usurp control from within. However, the alternative is another world war, one they cannot win now that Darth Vader has intercontinental ballistic concussion bombardment available...

    72. Greece - Communist
  • Try a run as communist Greece in the new dlc

The old world was falling away. In Greece, the monarchists were exiled and the republicans were forced to concede to the communists, to protect Greece from the rising fascist threat. Indeed, the British had a fascist takeover, and because of that, the French were forced to take a more active role in defending Eastern Europe from Germany.
When Germany invaded Czechoslovakia, the dominoes began to fall... Romania, Yugoslavia, Hungary were all occupied by the German Army. Luckily for Greece, bulgaria did not join the war quickly, and so was pre-emptively invaded to create a northern buffer region beyond the border.
On the Western Front, all was quiet, as the Maginot and Dutch Water lines proved too difficult for the Germans to break through.
Meanwhile in Turkey, the Turks tried to genocide the Kurds, who revolted in response. Turkey fell into civil war as the republicans tried to keep the country from falling into the hands of imperialists. Greece took advantage of the chaos to invade Turkey, saving the Kurds while finally accomplishing the Magli Idea.
However, just when things were looking good, Italy decided to invade Greece. Fortunately, Germans gotten too friendly with the Soviets, so the Italians joined the British Empire, who were more resolutely anti-communist.
Greece endured a devastating British naval invasion, but fought back and reclaimed the islands with the help of a new submarine fleet.
Meanwhile in the Americas, Mexico joined the Axis and raised hell throughout Central and South America, causing vast casualties to the Americans in irregular jungle warfare. Enraged at the Nazis for giving foreign support to the latino warmongers, the USA joined the French in the war against Germany. Not long after, the Italo-British and Franco-American alliances, paranoid about Nazbol cooperation, joined their alliances together to fight the combined "Berlin-Moscow Axis of Evil"
Although the western allies started with superior industry, the Soviets and Germans were able to mobilize their armies more quickly and on each front, they slowly pushed the allies back.
The first major breakthrough was in Italy, where the Greeks managed to capture Sicily. From there, they rolled up the Italian boot, capturing Rome and stopping only at the Alps, unable to break the Swiss and French defenses.
The second major breakthrough came when fascist Portugal invaded republican Spain, quickly overrunning it. However the Comintern managed to send a large army through a single port near seville, beginning a re-conquest that would trap millions of British and American soldiers. Once those pockets were cleaned up, comintern armies rolled through southern France, all the way to Paris.
This marks the annoying phase of the war, where the Americans and British sent hundreds of thousands of men into counter-invasions of Spain and France, each one contained at great cost to the commintern. Something had to be done to stop the naval invasions that could break the war effort. A plan was devised to invade England, to distract the Royal Navy enough to get it out of the channel, then temporarily close off the channel with the fleet of Greek submarines long enough to land armies and capitualte the British, removing the ports that threatened Europe.
The plan worked, but right after the invasion was launched, many of the transport craft and the entire warship navy were instantly destroyed by naval aircraft. Despite these losses, the Greek army had enough men to overwhelm the defenders, as they had overextended themselves sending men around the world.
Just as the British capitualed and the end of the war seemed close, the Germans betrayed the Soviet friendship agreement and tried to take over the Soviet half of Poland. In a lightning war, millions of Soviets were killed. This noble sacrifice blunted the spear of the German assault, allowing time for the Greeks to send their Army from England to counter-invade Germany from the Netherlands, while using the reserve army to liberate the Balkans from german occupation.
By the time Greek armies were at the gates of Berlin, there was a serious problem causing the army to be too weak to advance: occupying all of western europe required hundreds of thousands of men, men greece didn't have due to losing millions over the course of the war. On average, each combat division was down to 50% manpower strength. The only reason the frontline remained stable was because the Germans had also suffered horrendously, and thus couldn't counter-attack.
The Greek high command decided that the war would have to end in the next few months, so a huge gamble was made: the entire reserve army would be disbanded, and occupation of enemy territories would be handed over to local (often non-existent) police. The free manpower would be folded into the remaining combat divisions to make one final desperate push to capitulate the Germans.
Berlin was captured, Vienna, Munich, Hamburg... but the Germans hadn't given up and now resistance in occupied lands was dangerous enough that partisans might overthrow the Greeks. Until finally, right at the breaking moment the final German stronghold was captured, and the war ended.

In Europe, the Comintern reigns supreme, with a restored Byzantium proudly delivering socialism to the people. In Asia, the Japanese have managed to successfully fend off the American fleets and retain their new asian dominion. Australia, having quit the British Empire when it turned fascist, remains and independent democracy protected by the comintern. In Africa, Soviet armies liberated many colonies, and with the ceasefire stand before the new Afrikan Empire, risen from the ashes of the British Empire in Africa. In America, the fascist Canadians have taken over the remnant of territories belonging to Britain. The rest are democracies protected or occupied by the USA.

    73. Romania - Fascist
  • Perhaps a fascist Romania?

The World started to really burn when the Japanese Civil War went global. The anti-imperialists which were besieged in Tokyo started receiving help from Germany, while the Japanese Imperial Army received help from the British Empire. This meant that Germany joined the French-Commonwealth Allies against the fascist British regime. It also meant that both the democracies and fascists were now at war with the Comintern, since the Soviet Union decided the Civil War was the perfect opportunity to invade both Japanese factions.

While the world burned, Romania quietly established their own dominance in the Balkans, creating a puppet regime in Bulgaria, while fusing the crowns of Romania-Hungary. However, Romania could not expand further, since the republics and kingdoms to the south would surely join the Allies, and Soviets were still too strong to take on directly.

So for years, Romania built up its army while waiting to see which side would gain the upper hand. It turns out the democracies were winning, with the newly established Kingdom of France claiming the throne of the deposed spanish monarchy, and single-handedly defeated Italy. Meanwhile, Germany helped supply France and Japan as they fought through the colonies and around the Soviet periphery.

Now that the army was properly equipped with tank support, Romania was confident enough to invade the Soviets. The declaration of war allowed Romania to join the Allies, which meant Yugoslavia, Greece, and Turkey would no longer be protected from aggression. They all fell quickly, then allies armies flooded into Russian territory from the newly opened fronts.

The world wars are now concluded. While the British are safe behind their Royal Navy, they now remain isolated from the rest of the world.

    74. Bhutan - Neutral/Monarchist
  • Play as Bhutan. Non-aligned path. Historical AI. Do not expand to other countries.

First, Japan invaded China. Then, they moved through the South Asian islands. Then, they reached Burma. By this time, Bhutan had imported a considerable amount of portable artillery to outfit their specially-trained mountain troops with heavy firepower. As Japanese armies spilled into the Bengal basin, the army of Bhutan marched out. Time and time again, they surprised the Japanese, by moving large amounts of artillery over mountains that Japanese units dared not cross on foot. This superiority in maneuver and firepower allowed all four divisions of the army to whip the Japanese, even as the rest of India collapsed.

By the time the Americans had reached the Japanese Home Islands and imposed their ceasefire, Bhutan had suffered 50,000 losses, about 10% of the population. In return, the Assam mountains around Bhutan were now home to half a million Japanese graves. The fiercest army of the whole World War, soldiers of Bhutan collectively achieved a 10-to-1 kill ratio despite being heavily outnumbered...

Once the surrender was formalized, Bhutan had the honor of helping India restore local rule as the Japanese occupiers were sent home. Much of the same was happening all over Asia, though in many former colonies, the previous governments were not invited back...

    75. Ukraine - Fascist
  • Or could I just request a game where you release Ukraine in 1936, turn fascist and puppet the European nations?

"[Ukraine's] certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics"

How did Ukraine suddenly achieve independence with Stalin's blessing? A great story, for another time!

Ukraine, having little industry, set about rapid buildup of military production, so that it could achieve grand ambitions of conquest. The fascist party quickly took over. However, Ukraine had to wait a full three years for the entirely fresh army to be trained and equipped.

Meanwhile, Turkey founded a third-way neutral block to oppose both the Soviets and Allies. War broke out, with the British attempting to topple the government in Turkey. Spain and Romania joined, as did Yugoslavia when Italy invaded. This was a golden opportunity. Ukraine could break out of its borders without fighting against the stronger great powers that would guarantee the independence of smaller countries.

So, before the army was even finished distributing enough rifles, war was delcared on Romania, and the invasion began. Swiftly, most of the Balkans fell. Greece and Bulgaria joined fascist Italy, which formed an Alliance with France. Ukrained also joined union of international nationalists for conquest. Since the Allies were friendly co-belligerents, Ukraine forced wars on neighbor after neighbor, taking advantage of the lack of British guarantees. Even mighty Germany fell before the onslaught. However, by the time the minor countries of Europe had been captured, the wars ended and the British turned hostile. Ukraine decided that they could gobble up the rest of the small countries in west and northern europe and let its allies fend off the British while moving on to a larger prize...

The Soviet Union presented to final challenge. However, the USA and Japan joined the Allies, and started fighting brutal colonial wars against the Chinese and fascists. Also, America was able to execute major naval invasions of Europe, taking over most of France.

Now that modern tanks were beginning production, Ukraine integrated them in frontline divisions as infantry support. With their help, the invasion of the Soviet Union resulted in fewer casualties than the invasion of Germany, since the Infantry had some fire support and armor protection, instead of pure human wave attacks. Still, the Soviet Union was large enough that the rolling offensive took a full year just to occupy European Russia. A large Soviet army was trapped in the Middle East and destroyed, with it, were the hopes of a counter-attack, and so the Soviets Surrendered.

With this victory, it was clear that the Allies would not be able to maintain a position in Eurasia, so peace was made. The situation in China is a compromise that nobody is happy with.

    76. Germany - Democratic
  • Democratic Germany avoiding WW2

While Germany and America sleep, the British and French intervene in the Balkans, eventually rescuing the various nations there from many threats, both foreign and domestic.

Among those threats are the Soviets, who push on all borders inciting incidents. Eventually the spark is lit in Finland, and Europe goes to war to defend itself from the Red Menace.

Meanwhile, China has beaten back the Japanese invasion with the help of weapons and "advisors" from certain western neutral countries that want to keep the Japanese out and the door "open"... Japan retaliates by dragging the USA openly into the war. Since the US fleet stayed in San Diego, it is completely intact at the start of the war and by a few strokes of luck is able to cripple Japanese fleets. With too much manpower stuck in Asia or defensive island positions, there are few defenses on the home islands, which the Americans take advantage. Soon, Marines are at the gates of Tokyo and terms of surrender are accepted.

The USA, having kept China safely open to liberal democracy and free trade, resumes neutrality.

After a few years of bloody grinding, the Allies have not penetrated far into Soviet territory and are being slowly pushed back, but the Soviets are in no condition to invade Europe alone. A ceasefire will be sure to come soon...

    77. Bonus Round IV - Crusader Kings 3 -> EU4 -> Vic2
  • since you've done some occasional CK2 ones before:
    - Harold Godwinson AD -1066 (Vanilla/CK2+)

In 1066, Harold Godwin defends his throne by making marriage alliances with neighboring kings and powerful vassals. However, these vassals grow unrestful after years of war fighting off invaders. In order to sabotage them while maintaining an alliance, he gives defective daughters to his most powerful fiefs. This includes a dwarf daughter which is married to the rebellious duke of Northumbria.

Harold's son Godwine the Flayer inherits in 1089, increases crown authority but faces backlash from rebellious vassals. He earns much dread and tyranny trying to repress the various factions that crop up. Eventually, the daughter of the duke of Northumbria, who is a dwarf child like her mother, claims the throne. Under the guidance of the Duke of Northumbria she is a puppet, and is used by the Duke who takes advantage of the kingdom's weakness from the civil wars over crown authority to overthrow Godwine the Flayer in 1101. During her short reign she is dubbed "the doll queen" due to her stature and function. However, the family of Godwin, his brothers and uncles who were made dukes and counts, come together to re-install the rightful male heir of Harold on the throne in 1106. Shortly afterwards, the Duke of Mercia bribes his way though the election and the recently re-crowned king dies before he can adjust succession in 1109.

Godwine's son Onlaf of Cornwall attempts to overthrow the usurper but receives no support from family and allies, and is forced to abandon his claim to the kingdom and abdicate his duchy to his adolescent son Magnus. Thus the rule of the kingdom of England passed from the hands of the Godwin dynasty in 1110.

However, 35 years later the Mercian king dies, and through the election 1145 a cousin of Godwine the Flayer is crowned, Ethelwine of Deira. He is old and dies in 4 years, replaced by his son in 1149. His son also only lasts 4 years as a faction forms throughout the kingdom to restore the throne to the proper branch of the house of Godwin, so the throne is seized by Wulffled and Eadgifu sisters, who were Nurthumbrian nobles, nieces of Godwine the Flayer. The elder sister's son was Magnus, the original heir of Onlaf, deposed prince of Godwine. Thus with the ascension of Magnus in 1153, Godwin rule is restored.

Magnus was succeeded by his son Sebert, who led the successful crusade for Lithuania, installing his queen mother as regent there.

Sebert was succeeded by Magnus II, who was overthrown in 1213, leaving England to rule Lithuania as its king. The revolt leader was his aunt Edgifu, sister of king Sebert. She was hated as a leper and a dwarf, even by the prince Ulf (her and Sebert's brother) who she designated as the rightful heir to the throne. Ulf Barton was crowned in 1204. Thus the house Barton, of the Godwin Dynasty, begins its reign.

Ulf's son Ulf II inherits in 1230. He leads a successful crusade for Iceland against heretics. From then on, Iceland is a colony of England.

Ulf II's son Sigered inherits in 1259, but dies without sons in 1267. His daughter Elgifu takes over as regent and faces multiple civil wars. When the wars are over, she revokes the duchies of the rebellious vassals and instead directly oversees the earldom fiefs. Her centralization program finishes in 1273.
When Ulf II's younger brother Beorhtwaru comes of age, the queen regent steps down and crowns him in 1281.

Beorhtwaru's son Hereweard inherits in 1283.

Hereweard's son Sigered II inherits in 1307

Sigered II's son Wulfgar the Terrible inherits in 1329. He was notable for expanding on Elgifu's centralization through brutal enforcement with mass imprisonment and torture. His system of keeping the nobility in line would later be dubbed by historians as the "prison-feudal complex".

Wulfgar outlives his son and Wulfgar's grandson Cuthberht the Eater inherits in 1382. Cuthberht was known for his lavish feasting, as well as his manpower-consuming conquests where Wales was subjugated, thus his nickname was given.

Cuthberht's son Eadfrith the Consolidator inherits in 1437. The nobility of England attempt one final rebellion to undo centralized authority and are crushed. Thus in 1442 England is finally consolidated into an early-modern nation-state with administration being given not to fiefs but loyal office-holders. Although feudalism isn't quite over, the winds of change are blowing...

    The situation in 1444:

    ck3_godwin_1444.png

As a nation, England conquers Scotland and Northern Ireland. With the discovery of the Americas, colonies are founded in Mexico and the Caribbean. Along the way, many great power wars are fought on the continent of Europe.

Notable events were the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire, followed by the rise of Romania and Transylvania. Transylvania was a Romanian state that conquered much of the balkans, while Romania was a Greek state that reclaimed the Black Sea area.

Despite a tumultuous history, the present superpower of Europe is the Holy Roman Empire. Meanwhile, New Holland dominates the Americas and Asia/Pacific in partnership with the Sri Lankan Empire. Meanwhile, Finland dominates eastern Europe and continental Asia.

These positions of these three major powers were cemented in the World War of 1920-1924, Where France and Italy were batted down a notch, and Britain was forced to concede German domination of Europe.

    78. Libya - Neutral/Monarchist
  • Release Libya at game start and unite Africa.

With Electoral victories for Labour in Britain, it was clear that a new leftists approach would dramatically change British policy. Decolonization was supposedly done to benefit both the homeland and the colonized peoples, though in reality all it did was leave new orphan colonies to the sharks... Although Libya was also recently independent, it was allowed its own army, and quickly fielded mobile cavalry divisions to fill in the void that the British left behind.

The luckiest break the Libyans had was against South Africa, where the declaration of war against botswana triggered a counter declaration of war. However, the South Africans only bordered the Libyan territories at the tip of Namibia, so the South Africans sent half their army to the wrong side of the Kalahari desert. The few motorized units the Libyans managed to scavenge together rushed south through zimbabwe, and captured most of South Africa without resistance. Only at Pretoria and Cape was there origanized resistance, and they were surrounded, cut off, and quickly eliminated.

One by one African countries fell, until only fascist Portugal was left as the nation whose African holdings the Allies were not willing to defend. An alliance was made with Germany, who quickly crushed the Portuguese mainland, a mere sideshow in their crusade against the Soviet Union.

Now the world is at peace. Africa, although not completely united, has gone as far as it can, since Germany refuses to be dragged into yet another World War with the Franco-British and powerful Americans after they had a hard enough time digesting Russia...
