Bleeding Kansas, a victory for slavery?

What if the issue of Kansas was won by the pro-slavery settlers and people who lost OTL. How could they win this, and what effects would this have on a future Civil War?

Actually I see this as delaying the Civil War. By "win" I assume you mean Kansas admitted as a slave state. It'd release a bit of pressure out of the southern fireaters's stomachs for awhile.

Oh certainly there would be another conflict of this sort, either in Nebraska or New Mexico a few years down the road. Or maybe Brown's slave revolt is more successful?

More likely it backfires terribly for the South.

The large majority in Kansas were against slavery and won't tolerate a state constitution forced on them by a small minority.

Any official who did this, even President Franklin Pierce, might not be safe and it would certainly destroy the Democrats in the North.

Meanwhile if the national army doesn't expand Kansas is liable to be taken over militarily by the free soil movement, which means slavery is no longer safe in any state where a clear majority opposes it, even if the President, Congress and Supreme Court are on the other side.

If the army does expand that is even more likely to backfire when a Republican wins. Another 10-20 thousand Union regulars, the overwhelming majority of regulars stayed with the North, and the CSA is going to suffer some serious early defeats.
