Black Prince

No idea - If I was you I'd make a list of which states Edward III was friendly with, and look to see if their rulers had any daughters who could fill this role.

I'll get another possibility. What about the daughter of a powerfull french noble to insure an alliance which will bring English control of France?

That's a bit hard to do - except for the Gascons, who were basically an overseas province of England anyways, the French lined up pretty solidly behind Philip VI. The Burgundians wouldn't break off until Charles VI went nuts, which occured four years after Edward tBP's death. The only person I could think of might be Joan of Britanny, if the English decide to back her instead of Montfort.

Well, there you go; have Edward not marry Joan (or she dies somehow), and then butterflies keep tBP from killing himself long enough to marry a Burgundian princess...

Simon ;)

ya i was thinking about making a TL about this... out of curiousity do you guys think that Edward III wanted to just regain the Avegian inheritance or was he going for throne???

Would Margaret III of Flanders work, she would bring the Duchy of Flanders, Brabant and Limburg onto the side of the English. Also it would add land to England around Calais. Also im sorry that i dont know how to add wikipedia links to this page
