BIRT Challenge #2: Treadwheel Crane

My current concept of the Byzantine Foundation for Radio and Television's website calls for an animated treadwheel crane. If you do not know how to animate, we would still love to see your concept. in the top corner of this template I posted earlier is my sketch. It is a very, very bad sketch, but there if you need it.

Now for some more technical info:

  • The crane will be position on the right side of the screen, so the arm of the crane should be facing left.
  • At the moment, the color scheme is red, yellow, and white (based on the logo). Don't feel constricted to those three colors; so long as it melds with the general scheme it works. It's OK to post designs that do not fit into the color scheme; we have a back-up logo in purple if anyone thinks that would work better.
  • The hook and line is the only section that is animated. The idea is when one of the menu buttons is clicked, the crane will lower quickly to the bottom of the screen and "pull up" the desired page. This will like take a good bit of coding, so if you try your hand at animation, make sure to also post a not-animated concept.
If you think the idea of a crane is dumb in general, say so. Just make sure you have a suggestion of your own to replace it that conveys a "byzantine-esque" (complicated) feeling as good or better than the crane.
