Bin Laden targets different buildings on 9/11

How many places are like the Pentagon however? Not many, but crashing into Hollywood would be serious.

Crashing into anything would be serious.

Also, "Hollywood" the place isn't one general place it's like a large chunk of northwestern LA. You'll probably get a fire somewhat worse than the one at Universal Studios this summer but it's not going to singlehandedly crush the American entertainment industry or even seriously stop it. Besides...

..."Hollywood" the metonym describes the US cinema industry, most of which isn't even actually in Hollywood the neighborhood, but dispersed elsewhere.

I know they wouldn't cripple our cinema and stuff, but it would be a pychological blow nontheless.

Crashing into anything is serious, but how big of a deal it is depends on what is being crashed into. Compare crashing a plane into maybe a mountain, compared to crashing it into the WTC.

That it would be a psychological blow, of any magnitude, is not in dispute.

Which is why there are scores of far better and more worthwhile targets than Hollywood, Los Angeles. Sure, the blow will hurt and the damage as well, but so would be the result of crashing the plane into Missoula, Montana; that would hurt, too.

It would probably be a realistic target only if Al Qaida had more trained and ready operatives at their disposal (no pun intended); when all you have is 19-20 hijackers and 4-5 planes, you really need to prioritize your targets. HW, LA, is way down that list.
