Biblical What-ifs

Hi guys,

Here's something unique : Why not what if certain classic sagas from The Bible (regardless of whether or not they're entirely mythological) had POD's of their own?

For example, What if Goliath killed David?

Care to elaborate? Feel free my good sirs.

Well, it depends a lot of which part of the Bible we're talking on. Some are pretty much historically inconsistant, and could be understood only as deeply twisted or outright mythological.

For instance, the fight between Philistine and Hebrews may have been hugely overblown.

Going only by the biblical point of view, belonging more into ASB than Pre-1900 IMHO :

Goliath turn David into a marmelade, Saul remains king under Philistine domination, Philistine persecute Hebrews, laughing loudly, YHWH strikes back with much SFX, and eventually Saul is destitued while a prophets point out that Israel was wrong to desire a king "as other nations".

Have to agree with LSCatilina on this one, many events in the bible, especally the old testimony, are not backed up by historical events - Take Adam and Eve - There is no mention of Dinosaurs and we know for a fact that dinosaurs were around.
The great flood, no where in any historical writing is there anything regarding a flood wiping out humanity.

Also this thread could turn nasty between the religious and non religious - for example: What if Jesus died from catching lepracy instead of curing someone else or what if Jesus and Mary Magdaline had a child of their own.
