If you were stalin how would you go about your five year plans in a realistic way? Would you change anything or would you keep it how it was. And how would you prepare for the impending ww2 with those five year plans

How about abandoning the concept of five year plans to begin with? Large economies can't be centrally planned, they are too complex.

OK, taking a page out of the Modern Chinese government lease the lands to the peasants. Split the lands into equal parts and let the peasants lease it . They need to buy the seeds and fertilizer from the state and need to rent state owned tractors. Expand consumer goods slightly so they have something to buy. That solves the agricultural problem.

Build up the infrastructure, more railroads, warehouses and depots. Strengthen quality inspection. Base quotas on sales instead of production. By eliminating waste you could produce more stuff at less cost. Raw production may be considerably less but effective production should be much higher.
