Starting at a POD of his resignation on August 9, 1974, what can Richard Nixon do in his post-presidency to have the worst possible effect on the US or the world at large? Conversely, what is the best, most beneficial influence he could have?

As for the worst-case scenario (which IMO is the more fun of the two :D) one that easily jumps to mind is a long and tortuous Watergate trial. Another, more intriguing one would be if Nixon accepts the various invitations he received from foreign leaders, traveling the world and stepping into the role of unofficial diplomat, making public declarations and private assurances that run counter to the policies of the current administration (Ford, Carter, etc). IOTL, he went to China in February 1976, but turned down other invitations from the Shah, Marcos, etc.

Any other ideas?
