Hey Guys,
I know there have been threads before on Scottish Empire and all that, but most (or all) of them just involve the Darien Scheme. I'd like an idea of a place where the Scottish could try and create a colony that could work. Whether it be on an island or on mainland the condition is that a successful colony could be created (it doesn't need to expand hugely, but it needs to be self-sustainable and not conquered by anyone.)
The situation in Scotland is that it's independent with James VI as King, and the son of King Frederick II of Denmark and Queen Elizabeth I as the reigning monarch of Denmark, England and Norway. So it's a disunited island, with Scotland on its own and England refusing to unite with them. While this has gone on James VI has been in many talks with France, even securing the marriage between his daughter (Princess Elizabeth) to the future King Louis XIII. Also the death of Prince Henry has been butterflied away and thus a strong King takes over from James, rather than Charles.
