Gold: Count Alexander Suvorov. Along with Alexander the Great and Ghengis Khan, he was never defeated in battle. To list but one of his major victories, at the Battle of Rymnik he was outnumbered over 4 to 1 by the Ottomans and still managed to inflict over 25-1 casualties against his enemies. His retreat across the Alps was worthy of Hannibal.

Silver: Eugene Von Savoyen. While he suffered his share of defeats, especially in the later part of his fifty years of command, his victories against the Turks and the French were largely responsible for Austria remaining a great power into the 18th century. His victories, especially Blenheim are sometimes credited to Marlborough, probably in no small part due to his descendant Winston Churchill.

Bronze: Nadir Shah. The last great nomad warlord, he won battles against the Ottomans, Persians and Indians, the later against overwhelming odds. He carried off the Mogul sultan's Peacock throne. His later reign was marked by extreme cruelty and paranoia, but considering he started out his life as a orphan son of a weaver, and spent his formative years as a brigand, the fact that he died the ruler of one of the world's major empire testifies to his remarkable ability.

Honorable Mention: Robert Clive. Plassey and Condore guaranteed that the British East India company would be ascendant in the subcontinent. His brilliant career might have ended on a higher note were it not for his chronic depression, but his victories secured the greatness of the British Empire in the East.
