A Farewell to Arms: A detailed historical account of the implementation of the famous (or notorious) Small Arms Registration Bill, passed in the wake of the killing of President Lincoln, which severely restricted gun ownership rights in post-Civil War US. As Henry Wilson said at the time, "One President's murder is one too many. Unless this Bill becomes Law, I foresee a long and tragic list of casualties from the White House down to the farmhouse." Ironically, the book's author would himself die of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
