In the unlikely situation that a ruler of one of the Islamic states in what we know think of as "Christian Europe" was ever to convert to Christendom, would one of the Berbers or the "Arabs" be more likely to convert? If I recall correctly people here often state the difference between these two classes or rulers, and so I was curious which of the two classes would be more likely to convert in an effort to retain their ruler ship without abandoning their customs. In regards to this I particularly mean with regards to Sicily/Andalusia as the title suggests, but something interesting with regards to Albania or Bosnia could also be interesting to see a Christian state with more of an active Muslim legacy that isn't as despised as is the case with regards to Spain, Italy and most Balkan states.

I suppose any potential follow ups would be:
  • What brand of Christianity or even Messianic Judaism
  • Would they assimilate into the cultures of the local Christian powers to make diplomacy easier or would they retain their current culture in the short or long term.
  • Could such a state become a pseudo-creole state a la England after the Normans, or would they be more likely to attract other migrants/immigrants like themselves or assimilate fully?
I've always been intrigued by this idea, and AoE II and the El Cid campaigns always made me wonder if something like this was possible so sorry if its borderline ASB.
