Benjamin Franklin killed in kite experiment in 1752

I read an article which states that Franklin was lucky he wasn't killed flying that kite in a thunderstorm in 1752. How would the Revolution and so forth have developed had he been killed in this experiment?

Without Ben Franklin's diplomacy to France, there is no outside support for the revolution.

William Franklin, son of Benjamin Franklin, will be known as the Loyalist leader who crushed the rebellion of thirteen colonies. Also the one who finally negotiate the British North America status as a representative dominion as well. Earning him the title "Franklin the Reconciliator". A lot of Alternate History ITTL will speculate much about the survival of his eccentric, scientist father, who are rightly respected as having far better diplomatic skills...

Meanwhile George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, etc... is hanged as traitors...
