Benjamin Franklin in France

hey, all. this idea just occurred to me--for once it ISN'T something for my ASB ATL :p

anyway, i was zoning out a bit from homework a few minutes ago and i recalled some fan-wondering about why Benjamin Franklin didn't have more of a presence in Assassin's Creed III, with the answer being that Franklin wasn't actually in America for most of the war, he was playing negotiator in France to get international support

okay, so suppose that Ben Franklin is still in France negotiating with the local leadership for support in the ARW when he learns that, for whatever reason you like, the Revolution has been crushed and its leadership captured with at least some of them possibly awaiting execution for treason. with the independence movement defeated, what would Franklin do? would he go back to the Colonies and risk being arrested, or stay in France in a state of self-exile?

They bide their time until a second chance at revolt presents itself. They may lead the 2nd American Revolution or they may just become a bunch of drunk rabble-rousers and embarressment to the French Crown

He sends to the Secret Service: "Agent 72 reporting. What is my new assignment?"

Then, at a grand lady's reception, over the hoca table, one of the fair young filles says, "I'm Marie-Chantal de Collinsbourg. And you are?"

He puts his clay pipe into his mouth, takes a satisfying draw, and says, "Franklin." He blows out a puff of smoke. "Ben Franklin."

Which begins a new adventure of immense peril and excitement, ending with the destruction of . . .
