November 8, 2008: Mitt Romney wins 2008 Presidential Election

Welcome back to CBS Election Night 2008. With allegations about against Barack Obama about his citizenship and religion, he is destined to lose the support of the south and very patriot Americans and religious Americans also. We have the final projection coming up soon.

Mitt Romney is elected President. This was not that much a surprise with all the accusations surrounding Obama. He won the South and most of New England. Including most of the Great Plain states.

Please contribute but please read what has happened before you post

No, not happening. Romney winning the election in itself is implausible, him winning Maryland, Delaware, and most of New England makes it even more so.

It is very, very hard for a Republican to win in 2008 given the fundamentals (economic crash, Iraq War, Bush approval rating below 30%). Romney wouldn't be the best candidate, as with Wall Street crashing it is all too easy to link him to those seen as responsible for the crash. Plus, Romney doing so well in New England doesn't make sense, especially when the Midwest was stronger. And the PoD about Obama doesn't make sense either. A more plausible PoD IMO would be Romney beating President Kerry in 2008 in a Kerry 2004 TL as happened in my TL A Different Path. If you can explain why it is plausible, which frankly it isn't, then I may rethink this.

Doing a different TL a more realistic one and a more realistic PoD (Still the same Romney 8 Years). Also those are the correct colors.
